This afternoon beginning at 1 p.m., you'll have a unique experience: The Berlin Wall Self-Drive Trabi Tour. Head for the “Trabi World” starting point, near historic Checkoint Charlie on Zimmerstrasse. You'll select which version of the infamous “Trabi”—East Germany's two-cylinder low-powered auto—you'd like to drive! You and three other Trabis will follow your guide through some of the locations that divided East and West Berlin prior to 1989. You'll visit the “Wall Park” and see the last remnants of the infamous Death Strip. Then head for Café Moscow on Stalin Allee, to have a typical Russian snack of tea and bread with salt, before proceeding to the East Side Gallery—the largest and best-known remaining section of The Wall, with artwork from over 100 artists. Finally, you'll pass through a rigorous document inspection at Checkpoint Charlie, just as it has happened as a part of everyday life in the divided city.
